Reach out via phone or email. If you're unable to contact us yourself, a trusted friend, family member or industry representative may reach out to MusiCares on your behalf.

Confidential Intake and Assessment
A MusiCares team member will review your application and supporting documentation, then connect with you to better understand your circumstances, immediate challenges, and eligibility for assistance.

Customized Care Plan
Your situation is unique. Working together, we'll identify the most appropriate resources and develop a customized plan that may include financial assistance, preventive health support, recovery services, financial coaching and/or referrals to other trusted community resources.

Direct Assistance and Alternative Support
When assistance is approved, payments are made directly to service providers such as landlords, utility companies, medical providers, therapists and treatment programs. Our goal is to provide short-term relief, reduce immediate stress, and help you take next steps toward holistic wellness, long-term stability, and career longevity.
How We Help
Financial Assistance
When music professionals experience unforeseen circumstances, MusiCares steps in and provides financial assistance for basic living needs including rent, mortgage, utilities, medical and dental bills, insurance premiums, funeral expenses, and other case-specific needs.
Mental Health & Addiction Recovery Support
When a music professional is faced with an addiction recovery or mental health challenge, MusiCares facilitates access to treatment including inpatient or outpatient care, sober living costs and other case-specific needs.
Disaster Relief
Over the last three decades, MusiCares has provided $39.5 million in disaster support to the music community. For many music pros impacted by a disaster, MusiCares offers the first line of support. During dedicated disaster relief efforts, MusiCares’s eligibility requirements are lowered to three years of industry experience to ensure music professionals can access support when they need it most. MusiCares support spans acute relief for essential living needs to longer-term recovery efforts including preventive health, mental health support and equipment replacement.
Access to high-quality preventive health care is essential to supporting a thriving and sustainable music community. MusiCares partners with leading nationwide and telehealth providers to provide accessible care for both on and off the road.
MusiCares empowers music professionals to take their wellness into their own hands with free access to expert-led trainings and videos on topics including tax tips, suicide awareness and prevention, affordable housing, and more. We provide access to resources that support overall wellness including community resources and music-specific relief organizations.
Support Groups
MusiCares offers weekly virtual, emotional and addiction recovery support groups led by licensed behavioral health practitioners. Weekly groups provide ongoing peer connection, professional support, and tools to support long-term well-being across the music industry.
Eligibility
MusiCares is here for everyone working in the music industry including musicians, songwriters, engineers, producers, live crew, managers, agents, and more.
Eligibility requirements include proof of:
- A minimum of five years employment in the music industry* (employment does not have to be full-time or consecutive) OR
- Credits on at least six commercially released recordings (singles) or videos
MusiCares assists music professionals in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
* Reduced to three years for designated disaster relief efforts

MusiCares’ Health and Human Services staff is comprised of licensed experts in social work, mental health, and addiction recovery. Our team provides personalized care through a client-centered and trauma-informed approach. We also collaborate with a trusted network of external providers including medical, dental and behavioral health practitioners who understand the music community and provide specialized, compassionate services.
